I know, I know. I do go on about the woman, but today she had my sympathy.
Grammy has arthritis. She’s got it in her spine. She’s got it in her shoulders, hands, elbows, knees. Well, you get the picture.
She turns on the computer this AM and what does it say? Vioxx is recalled. I mean she bows down to the great gods of Vioxx every morning. And it’s been because of Vioxx that she could bow down, if you get my drift.
So, the Doctor says, she can take something else. ‘Scrip is ordered. She goes to pick it up and the insurance rejected it and she’s stuck paying $156.57. Now, the Grams is not one to take this lying down.
She calls the insurance. Nice young lady says, “Oh no, have the pharmacy call, we will okay it.” Grams calls pharmacy. Young lady reluctantly says, “Okay, but that’s not usual.”
Long story short: Grams ended up having to go to the pharmacy 3 times before she got her $ back. And she was worried about what people do who don’t insurance. Big Guy said, “They live with pain, they take ½ a pill, they take them occasionally.” “That’s so unfair,” said Grams.
Now, she’s hoping the new meds work. Me too.
